Foreign-born enrolled pupils with two foreign-born parents. Foreign-born with native-born adoptive parents are excluded.

Descendants: Native-born with two foreign-born parents.

Rest of population: Total population excluding descendants and foreign-born with two foreign-born parents.

The frequency is calculated by dividing the amount of students how has not completed upper secondary education 5/6 years after entering by the total amount of students that entered upper secondary education at the time of entering. Example, Frequency Not completed after 5 years = (Amount of students how has not completed upper secondary education 5 years after entering upper secondary education) / (Total amount of students that entered upper secondary education at the time of entering). Percentages or frequencies are produced with a base of a minimum of 50 individuals per cell.

Country background: Foreign-born with two foreign-born parents = their own country of birth. Descendants = mother's country of birth, or father's country of birth if mother's is unknown. Rest of the population = Reporting country i.e. one or both parents' country of birth is the reporting country.

Completion rate: Enrolled pupils who have not completed a secondary education 5 or 6 years after starting this in 2010.

Completion rate:
- Everyone who started their upper secondary education on reference year are included.
- Does not have to be a resident all 5 years, may move in and out during the period.
- All who complete their degree based on legislation are included.

Iceland

15 October.

Completion rate: Pupils who started their upper secondary education for the first time in the relevant autumn, and the proportion who have not completed with a high school diploma or vocational certificate within five and six years since start-up. Adult education or those who start over again to complete studies later are not included.

Norway

Reference date: 1 October 5 and 6 years after start-up.

Foreign-born with two foreign-born parents: Foreign-born with two foreign-born parents and four foreign-born grandparents. Adopted foreign-born are excluded.

Descendants: Native-born with two foreign-born parents and four foreign-born grandparents.

Completion rate: Pupils who started a basic course for the first time in the relevant autumn, and the proportion who have not completed with a high school diploma or vocational certificate within five and six years since start-up. Those who fail final exams, die or emigrate during the period are registered as not completed. Adult education or those who start over again to complete studies later are not included.

Sweden

Reference date. End of spring semester 5 and 6 years after start-up.

Completion rate: Pupils who started their upper secondary education for the first time in the relevant autumn, and the proportion who have not completed with a high school diploma or vocational certificate within five and six years since start-up. Adult education is not included.
